??? schools have had climate change talks.

About us

We're Calderdale Climate Challenge - a local project designed to raise awareness and understanding of climate change.

We'll be working hard between now and spring 2008 to take the climate change message out to schools and children; larger employers and small businesses; voluntary groups; decision makers - and into every household in the district.

We're part of a national campaign - the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Climate Challenge.

DEFRA invited organisations to bid for grants so that they could carry out awareness projects - and here, the Calderdale Sustainability Forum (who put together the Climate Challenge project) was awarded one of those grants. We were one of just five regional winners.

Calderdale Sustainability Forum is an umbrella body of organisations, groups and individuals in Calderdale concerned with promoting sustainable development in Calderdale. See : www.sustainablecalderdale.org.uk

"Over the next 18 months, we want to involve as many people and organisations as possible. We want to help everyone to understand about climate change and to recognise that, together, we can make a difference."
Anthony Rae, Project Co-ordinator
